My Written Review
This is a nice little laminator and it works great. Perfect for use at work or in your home office. It is great for crafts, children’s projects and preserving business cards, recipes, calendars or pictures. This product does not come with laminator pouches; you will need to buy them separately in order to use this.
Simple to Use:
Plug in the laminator and turn it on. When in the “on” position, the red power light comes on. It takes 3-5 minutes to warm up in order to use. When ready, the green ready light will come on. Put your paper or project in a laminator pouch and insert it, closed side of the pouch first, into the inlet of the laminator. The machine will slowly pull your ouch through and come out the outlet in the back. You will need to guide your pouch a bit to make sure that it continues to pull through straight. There is a lever to use to free a jam, should your project get stuck and need to be removed. Know where this is prior to use. I have never experienced any jams, myself. It glides through pretty easily, when my pages have gone crooked- the worst that has happened was some slight bending on the side. When it comes out the outlet, be sure to remove the project right away to avoid any melting. It is easy and quick.
This laminator does get hot. Make sure to use it on a level surface, while it is lying flat. The machine is hot to the touch (not in a way that would hurt you) and does take a while to cool down after use. When your page comes through it just feels warm but not too hot to touch.
You can buy thermal laminating pouches for it online or at a local store in the office supplies department. I used 8.5X11 sized pouches, 3MIL in thickness. (It can go up to 5MIL). You could do any size of pouches- they just can’t be any wider than 8.5inches, as that is the width of the inlet. You can do legal sized documents though, the length can be as long as you want.
